That hitch just had wraps added to the original bend, a feature of it as a bend is each end is tied to the other rope, and kept apart. If there is a shock load the two knots coming together absorb some of the load.@Brocky on the adjustable bend I had to add another wrap because it wouldnt hold however overall I really like this one. It tends pretty decent on its own and holds nicely without biting into the rope too much for releasing purposes
This is awesome. This forum would be a vastly different place without your contributions. Some loop hitches I recently came up with, number of wraps needed will vary. There are two that are same, didn’t catch until after taking picture. The blue dot is the end of the loop opposite the eye.

The one on the top row, 2nd from the right... that's the one I posted a photo about on your thread asking if you knew of it. I asked you and everyone else in my circle of knot nerds and nobody knew it had been published. I put up a video yesterday of it, calling it the Agile Hitch. Some loop hitches I recently came up with, number of wraps needed will vary. You just made the rest of us feel better.Oops to me now, sorry I missed it.
It's the same hitch. The only real difference is the addition of wraps which is a detailed, and the addition of the Carabiner which helps it from getting jammed and makes it easy to move. If you scroll up to Jan 30, post 239 here in this thread is the first place I posted it. After that, while also checking with other sources, I kept testing it and published my YouTube just the day before Brocky posted his AWESOME library. Screenshot of that post below. It's so simple that i am going to be surprised if it's not published somewhere. So if anyone is aware that it had been published with a name prior to Jan 30, pls let me know. Thx.Hey, I just found this thread and am processing all of the great information, but I'm confused - isn't Brocky's hitch (2nd from the right, as John RB pointed out) the same as John RB's that he's naming the Agile hitch?
It’s the same hitch, I “discovered” it before John, but didn’t name it, Agile sounds better than just the number, which I would use.Hey, I just found this thread and am processing all of the great information, but I'm confused - isn't Brocky's hitch (2nd from the right, as John RB pointed out) the same as John RB's that he's naming the Agile hitch?
No there isn’t, maybe some day. I just recently completed the “finished” drawings for double eye frition hitches, the loop hitches are just preliminary drawings and a little rough.Brocky-
Would there be a way or place to post all of your friction hitch drawings individually?
Your drawings are the best and clearest I have ever seen, and are very easy to follow.
The blue dot really sets them apart.
Thanks.
"No phones at the table!!!!!"Lol … I need to turn off notifications… sitting at dinner and left the phone on the table as I went to grab something… young daughter asks at the table … daddy l”what is friction hitching” … a confused glare from the wife followed ..
I had an idea for the 'toboggan'.
The top wraps can get pretty dang tight on a lot of hitches and I thought about trying this...

I haven't tested it under load yet but it might work pretty good?
