LWCG stand setups

I added the mule clip from Genesis 3D printing to my LWCG doubles as well as added his versa hanger to my stand to be able to hang the sticks from the stand while it’s still on my back and take them off one at a time as I go up.

It’s almost efficient enough that I’m tempted to ditch my spurs.

I wish I still had my spurs. When I used to use them I was using a Ros and it was a pain taking them off. They would pair well with a .5

Curious is everyone who’s running foot rests is glad they added them?

Also wondering how you are attaching your compact sticks. I find the JHooks work great but don’t like running them (and looking for them in the leaves, etc)

Glad I added them, yes. Absolutely. Gives the platform a roomer feeling. Place to rest my feet, which shifts the pressure points when sitting for longer periods of time. Gives a much larger load shel when packing gear on top of the seat. Only drawbacks are more steps (sequencing of operations) needed to deploy and pack up the stand and the foot rests can occasionally get in the way when trying to strap the stand into the tree in the upright position (before cam locking it down, the steps hit the tree and you can’t get it as tight as you normally would). Added them to both the 0.5 and 0.75. A good addition.

Do you happen to know the weight the foot rest add? Assuming they are Novix footrest?

Also do they mount in the existing cable holes of the stands or did you have to drill new holes to mount?

Maybe a couple of ounces; foot rests are aluminum, lightweight, and not rigid or thick enough to add any significant amount of weight. No drilling required. 1/4" bolts, same as what is on the stand already. For one of the stands I bought longer bolts, the other one was "plug and play".

The ones that dude is selling on FB are 12oz. I like the Novix ones better they don’t seem so flimsy/flexy but I am not sure what they weigh.

Spray paint them with blaze orange paint. I am using the full length sticks and titan straps they did not work well for me. I need the j hooks for the long sticks.

I did and added glow paint inside of the cup. Would love to not have them to lose.

Ditch em and use your cam strap. I got tired of the j hooks. Will keep them around but gonna try just a single cam strap. I’m testing it worked great. Over thought this part of my setup for sure

Any pics of how you route it ? When I cinch mine tight I pull/rock the sticks out of the pockets where the rubber nubs go

Worked good on the 17" sticks. Not so good on the long sticks.

Can someone save me a bunch of searching and recommend a few under seat pouches? Think I’m going to use one for tether so I have one less pouch on my killdeer.

Not the best, but here are some of the set up.
I just ordered another hanger to go on the other side, in case there was ever a situation that I needed to hang them off my right.

I have the mule clip at the top and a titan strap zip tied to the post to strap the bottom portion of the stick, but that’s not needed.

So you pull all 4 at ground level & hang 2 on the bottom of the stand to climb?

I undo the mule clip, which has all 4 on it, then I’ll typically set 2 while standing on the ground and the leave the other 2 in the clip and hang it from the hanger. I’ve got aiders on 2, so I’ll probably only hang one while on the ground and hang the other 3 while I climb up if I need to stretch it out some.

Explain it to us man! I think I see most of it but I wanna hear.
.5 with a Kifaru E & E (saddle, binos, light, misc). A couple of Web Talons holding the two ONE sticks with 3-step aiders. Large Kifaru pouch with rappel rope, madrock, etc. Trekking pole for advancing tether up the tree (no slack climbing, thanks @Fl Canopy Stalker). Not sure about the hybrid setup after this much time in the saddle, but once it cools down some I’ll get in a palm tree and try it some!
