If you find one you like, you let me know! Ha I’m in this same boat. I dropped a pack because I don’t carry enough stuff to need one. I’m down to a small Fanny pack I cut down. I do find myself wishing I could strap an extra layer or rain jacket to something. I have been looking for a small pack to do this. Or a Fanny with strapping options

I was hoping you guys would bail me out! Lol. I am just growing some options on Amazon. Again, love my venture and it was perfect for saddle hunting but just doesn’t mesh well with the .5 for me. Maybe the divide from Kuiu would be better but rather pricey

I’ve been looking at the divide 1200 myself. Also the wolf pack but the wolf pack I’m just afraid the inside would fill up too quick or I wouldn’t be able to get to what I want inside it without removing something
 
The gear leach has been my goto, but I think I’m going to use an xop Stryker for an all day hunt / cold weather. It is the perfect size with the right amount of pockets for me. And at a price you can’t beat with what packs are going for now.

No wrong way to set it up.
I like a small pack. Atttach my coat below the seat.

I just have a kifaru guide lid. Clothing goes between the guide lid and my stand, secured with the guide lid's backpack straps run under the bottom of the seat, and then drink, grunt tube, and maybe less bulky layer in the guide lid. All my climbing related stuff is either on me already or in the under seat bag so I don't need much. The guide lid is a little big but I like having room to stuff my harness and lineman's ropes in there for the walk out.

I purchased smaller bag yesterday to strap to stand for kill kit, a slayer and a few drinks/snacks if needed.

I do have a Stone Glacier Lid I could try too.

We’ll see how it goes!

I’ve actually thought of this and wanted to try it! By harness do u mean your saddle fits inside it? If so what harness or saddle?
 
Might be a tad to small but I could make it work.

Has two knifes, two headlamps, tag, stratus jacket and winter hat in it. One bottle of tea on backside.

It’s doable. I’m going to try it on an evening hunt. Easy solve would just be to strap jacket to stand since my bibs will get strapped anyway and then I would have room for everything pretty easy without clothes.

To me the problem with strapping all that stuff to the stand is you have to find a place for it once it’s time to climb. I certainly don’t want heavy clothing on when I’m climbing. I think it’s easier to just get a pack that works for everything I need to carry.
 
I still haven't found the perfect pack. There may not be one. I've got a Kifaru Striker for certain situations, Kuiu 2300, This pic is the LWCG pack on top of the Ambush with four 17" sticks, Then there are hunts I'll just roll with the Kifaru Rogan with my Fix or .75.
My approach has become more dialed in to how I want to execute a specific hunt.
One thing I've learned though is the bigger the pack the more I bring. That train of thought can take you down a dirt trail of simply loading your pockets and figuring out what's the least amount you haul in and out.

I use an old backpack that is the size students carry books in until it gets around freezing or lower, then I use a Fanatic pack I got cheap. Fanatic holds Status bibs, second layer and heavy layer, plus snacks, water, coffee, etc. I pull either up with my bow/rifle and then they both sit pretty flat against the tree. Fanatic works great with a stand because it has no sheet or frame. I wouldn't pay full price for a Fanatic pack, it's not worth that much money. I put my saddle in a small zip pouch underneath the seat.

I'm actually just a stand hunter lurking. I mostly only look at this subforum and the trad archery one. I'll be playing with saddles this off season, but I was referring to my rock harness. I'm sure you could fit a saddle in the guide lid no problem, assuming you don't have too terribly much **** hanging off it. Even if you couldn't fit it inside, you could stuff it between the bag and the stand or platform. The backpack straps are sewn at the top and attach via buckles at the bottom, so there are multiple ways you could use it to strap clothes/saddle/etc to your platform or stand. I often have a puffy or rain jacket in there along with my harness on the walk out. It's about 1100 cubic inches if I recall correctly. It's got a little chamber pocket just inside the zipper opening that I'll throw my portable charger, some TP and a snack in for easy access.
 
For stand hunting it’s tough to beat the wolf pack IMO.

I climb with the stand and pack on the stand. Once at height….Put my gear strap on the tree pull the stand off my back pull the pack off and put the pack on my back throw the strap around and position/set my stand then climb in…move gear strap to where I want it. Etc…

The Wolf pack is nice. But any small pack will work.
Also it must be nice to be 41.
I have been struggling climbing. I finally realized I had my stand and pack on my back, about 18lbs. Way to much at 69.
Going to go to climb empty and pull up stand/pack & bow.

Identify as 29. That's what I do. ;)
 
I climb with stand only. I put a Doyle’s in my Wolfpack attached to my bow. I use a amsteel pull up rope for the pack. I really wanted to do how @enkriss is doing, but seemed a bit much for me trying to get the pack off the stand, then put the pack back on without dropping the stand etc. kudos if you can pull it off

Opposite here. I climb up wearing the backpack and use separate pull up ropes for the bow and treestand. I do it that way because the backpack is heavier than the stand and pulling it up using Paracord would be a bit much on the fingers. (Sure, it can be easily done, but I got rope burn once on the fingers many years ago when the backpack slipped!)

Someone told me about 3/8" polyester webbing. I have some on order. I hope that helps pulling the load.

If you can hang your jacket on a coat hook you have the skills necessary to accomplish the task.
