Mine came in today. I hung it a few times on a tree, just playing around with it. I actually like it better than the Assaults I’ve owned. It’s a little lighter, but the main thing to me, and I didn’t think about it until I hung it, was being 3.5” narrower than the assault, made it seem effortless to hang compared to the assault. The assault is by no means hard, but I preferred using the ez hang hook with the assault.
The Helo is setup to use the ez hang hook as well, but it hung as easy as a large saddle hunting platform or the lwcg .5. That 16” wide platform is also very nice and streamline on the back. I didn’t realize how much 3.5” made as far as bulk goes on the back. Feels much more lighter than it really is compared to the assault. Has a good size V and cammed great. I just used 1 strap and was solid without a hint of kick out.
I’ve never owned the lwcg 1.0 or beast stand, but I like the Helo way more than the 2 .5s I’ve owned...I tried hard to like the .5, just not comfortable at all to me. I’m going to order another, just to have, since it’s just $204 tmd right now.
I use 2 lwcg minis with cable aides on both. They attached to the platform nicely using the J-hook. I wished the seat locked in like a shelf, but I’m nitpicking now. I’ve owned a few different “mobile” hang ons and as of right now, I would rate this up towards the top for me.
