Pursuit platforms

I’m super close to pulling the trigger on a Pursuit Platform. I’m definitely more of a leaner. I’ve seen that my ankles hurt a little when I use my EDP platform even if I slant it down. Would the Pursuit Platform be a good option to help solve this issue?

I don't have the pursuit platform so can't answer ur question exactly but I can say this....I used a flat 90 degree platform like a treehopper for a little bit but it would bother my feet and ankles....it was fine in the backyard but after hiking 5 miles,.couple days in a row, and ur feet are a little sore to begin with it didnt take long till id be having discomfort in the ankle then the foots.....then i started building them angled and it is so much better. If I remember right the pursuit is 15 and 30 degrees? It's easy to find out what ur angle would be....tether to a tree on the ground and lean out to ur most comfortable position then stand up straight stiff as a board and place an angle finder on ur chest or have someone else place it in ur back...whatever the angle reads is ur "comfort zone" and if ur platform standing surface is built to that angle then when u are in ur comfortable leaning position ur feet and ankles will be in their natural standing position....much more comfortable over long periods of time

I just know mine has been great and the shallower angle is what I prefer the steeper angle I don’t care for.

Between the angle and the little bit of flex it has in it I imagine it will help. I like the shallower angle on mine as well

Excited to give the Pursuit a try this season, a few pieces of shock cord helped tame the ocb and two additional steps; tucks next the sticks on the pack 26E97F70-A851-4BB8-98EE-DCF3C5D05560.jpegpretty well. Feels good on the tree in the yard but haven’t been 20’ up in the woods yet.

This is pretty much my setup this season too.

That Huntworth pack is probably my weakness link… it’s a good pack for the money and does ok with lighter loads, but a proper frame is so much better. Kinda regretting passing on all of the discounted Popup 38s. Otherwise this kit feels good; everything including enough rope to rappel down if I had to, but no food or water, is 16.5 lbs.

I was wondering what pack that was. Is your pursuit a gen 1 or 2? I picked up a gen2 for this season but the gen1 works fine for me too. For public I have a Stryker XL pack with frame but I’m strongly considering using the MG large bird bag system this year. Not really sure yet.

going into my 2nd season with the Pursuit V2- Have anyone done any mods to this? Paint, tape, paracord wrap?
It doesnt need it but i'm at work and bored! lol

Pics if you have done anything.... lol

Anyone know the dimensions of the pursuit V2 platform offhand? I couldn't find on their website.

A couple of Squirrel steps and cable ties to secure the strap in the correct position. A great solution for most sits. For 1/2 day sits I use a bigger platform and for super cold (0-18F) I need to use another platform as my Pursuit squeaks in extreme cold.

I finally joined the club.....got a hold of a 2nd generation.

What's the deal with the "teeth" mat? Seems pretty useless to me?

I see a paint job of some sort in the future and definitely loosing the hook ocb. The sewn version ocb much more simple to me
Love mine! Depending on the tree and the bark, the teeth kind of squeeze into the grooves of the bark and provide additional friction or “purchase.” I love the EWO OCB hook It clamps it nice and solid to the tree. I have to set mine so the buckle is at about 2.5 or 3 o clock on most trees to get it nice and snug. I used mine exclusively all season. I stealth stripped the buckle and hockey taped the platform to keep incidental noise to a minimum. I also have the Gen 2 but haven’t ruined my Gen 1 yet.
Edit: Here’s a couple of pics of it in my complete load out with the Sladder. It tucks way down nicely into the Shapecharge.

by teeth mat do you mean foam knee/back saver pad? supposed to be a dual purpose piece of gear that keeps the teeth from digging in to your back on the walk in and serves as a knee pad also. never ran one, but thought it looked too small for my knees from the pictures I've seen.

I also picked up a gen 1 last year. Love it so far, still working on best way to carry in and setup in dark. What is everyone else doing.

longer shock cord loops (no ball) tied towards the top of my pack on the left and right and shorter shock cord loops with the balls attached left/right but lower on the pack

the longer loops go through/over any of my platforms and then attach to the balls on the smaller loops

i have them position so that I can reach around and hold the platform with one hand and undo the shock loops with the other and retrieve the platform without removing my pack (I climb with my pack on and only my bow on the ground)
