Team 2 Thread

Man you guys are doing awesome. We just vaulted up into second place. Hoping to contribute to the contest and my freezer on Thursday. Weather forecast is improving, highs projected to be 65 on Tues, 61 Weds, 51 thurs... Hope that trend continues, I'll be out regardless of the weather, unless it's pouring (fingers crossed)

Well crud, that was the forecast this AM, it changed back to warm spell staying through Thursday lol but I'm still going out. Can't kill em from the couch and all that.

Well guys after 9 long days in Kentucky I finally got it done this past Saturday. Not the big one I was hoping for but he was good enough for me on my last day of hunting.

My season in MS is just really starting here in the next couple weeks, so there’s a chance I could possibly upgrade my buck. Congrats on the kills everybody.

nice one! i'm still terrible at aging deer, but his face looks older than his rack might make us think? and regardless of age, i'm sure he'll eat. definitely worth a euro mount to me! (but then again, so was the one and only doe i shot, her skull is currently macerating in the driveway, going slow because i don't have a heater in the bucket)

It may just be that picture cause the biologist aged him at 2-1/2 years old when I checked him in. He was only 140 pounds, those hill country deer don’t normally tote big bodies.

i was mainly going by the disclolored spots- scars from fighting? but yeah, just me not knowing what i'm talking about/ inexperience. its really cool that you have biologists at check in- for me check in is on my phone, by myself from the woods.

I believe that may be dirt you’re seeing on his nose from when he face planted over some fallen trees on the way to his death lol

No points for us but I took another doe with my compound this evening… my first time one sticking… got my stick put together today. Practiced twice and went climbing… nothing beats a preset tree with bolts but this seems like a way better option for exploring than drilling multiple trees for a one time sit.

Nice job on the deer killin folks!!!

I'm still trying to fill my remaining doe tag on TX side.....doe days are over this weekend so its crunch time.

Still have plenty of work to do in AR but have plenty of time to get done there.

Where are we at as a team, am I the only member that hasn't killed something contest eligible yet? Who else needs some encouragement? High hopes for Thursday myself, but my bow season goes through January so I've got time...

"Good things come to those who wait" is only ever uttered by those who don't have to wait.

Seriously though, every state has such different seasons that I quit measuring my successes to others. My season started mid-September and have no idea when yours even opens. Our gun season has come and gone with muzzleloader opening after Thanksgiving for two weeks. My gear is packed away until next year unless the weather is mild enough to sneak up for muzzleloader at which point I'd only be chasing antlers for team points.

If you haven't posted points yet, don't sweat it. Your respective season(s) are different so enjoy the hunt, good luck and enjoy being in the woods.

You’re not alone! I haven’t even SEEN a deer in the last few sits. I’m getting frustrated with it, but not giving up yet. I’ll be out yet this week, and this weekend, and I still have a special muzzleloader hunt in my pocket.
