Photoshop it in there, lol. Since its the honor system anyway Im not totally sure why it matters. Half the pics show the deer already loaded in the truck or garage with the saddle next to it. Whats to stop a guy from having a saddle in the truck to take a pic with if you wanted to cheat.

I'm recusing myself from judgement since these deer will put us back in the lead. I can't say how the mod team will judge this but I'm sticking with whatever they decide. Either way, in the end, it doesn't really mean anything and you've had a fantastic season @Chuck2450 ! Congrats!
 
Hey all. I've been out lately, recovering from the flu or something that's put me on my butt the last 2 weeks. I messed up and didn't get a picture, but ended up with another smaller buck just before that all went down. I'll knock down a doe to make up for it, but missing the picture cost us 5 pts.
 
I'd like to think I'll still get a doe but Saturday was our last doe day until the end of the season and each doe day I've seen exactly zero does :(

Old lady isn't singing yet tho.

I've been down with a bug the last few days myself. Hopefully I can get out this week. I'd hate to waste some free time off work.

Look guys, the rut is basically over. How about we just tell the moderator to end the contest now so we can all enjoy the rest of the season without the stress? :)
 
No hunting this past week for me but they did get my well installed on Tuesday and just today I finally got all my pipes cleared. I had a lot of clogged pipes from the old well collapsing. Lots of cutting pipes and blowing air and water but they are clear. Took my first shower at my own house this afternoon in 44 days. Now hopefully back to hunting (though I used most of my remaining vacation on pipes)

I’ve got the boat and bike and all gear loaded.

Im in Arkansas Sunday-Sunday. Hope to have 5 days of huntjng jn that stretch. Goofy rules at the place im hunting, but I like my odds. Should be hitting weather just right wed-fri.

Then the south La game should be on point right behind it

Got the juices flowing.

My biggest bow buck. Lost him last year. Stranger found him. 125” 8pt. 24” main beams
 
Well, I left some more points off the board last night. I don't know what it is but I still have trouble pulling the trigger on those does. I had a big doe that lead a parade of six other does and fawns by me at 15 yds last night. The seventh deer was a unicorn spike. They all filed by me on the same trail right at last shooting light.

Yesterday morning I was set up about 150 yds from said trail and watched them head into bedding. There was a decent buck chasing around the group in the morning but I wasn't able to get a shot at him though the brush and distance. I set up closer last night but unfortunately he wasn't to be found.

Looks like the parade came through in the dark before I was setup this morning. Tonight's the last night of muzzleloader and I'll go and see if I can line one up tonight. I'm gonna shift a bit to the east a little closer to the bedding and see if I can catch them a bit earlier.
 
FWIW, I've killed in the neighborhood of 80 deer in my life and I can only remember shooting one doe, and that was by mistake (I'm sure the statute of limitations has passed by now :tearsofjoy: ). I've always said, I'm not going to let the contest affect what I chose to shoot or not shoot at any given time. I may still dump a doe, I certainly need the meat, but last night wasn't it yet. I won't know when its right until the moment I make the decision. :tearsofjoy:
 
I've let them walk too, so @boyne bowhunter, we cancel each other out. lol.

I've a nice pic of a 4 or 5 point bedded ten or so feet from me today and I'm short 5points for my squad. Seen him quite a few times. Last day of rifle. Could be my entry a few years from now, lol.

Big or little, buck or doe, if it makes for a fun hunt, two thumbs up on taking any legal deer. I enjoy seeing them well enough too, that there's no pressure to when I let them go.
