TEAM LAST CHANCE

Hoping to have a lucky encounter Saturday! Winds looking right for one of my favorite spots!!
 
Shot a doe last night. Hit her back- for sure some liver, never figured out if it was lung/liver or liver/guts. Temps were down into the 40s last night so I decided to wait until morning. Trailed her 350 yards and finally found her. Unfortunately a pack if coyotes had found her first and same as picked her clean

Still, I think you made the right call to wait. Sorry it didn't work out. Yotes suck.

That stinks. You can still get 5 points for her with a photo. I fully realize that means nothing at this time given your disappointment will surely eclipse anything to do with the contest standings...
 
Well fellas. It was a rough first week. Ended up seeing 10 or 12 through several sits but nothing in shooting range. Had a nice doe yesterday at 30 yards right at first light but she changed direction on me right before she walked into a clear lane.

Today I wake up and find that Ft Drum closed every training area to hunting for the next 3 weeks. So now I’m bouncing around as much public land as I can in the mean time to try and get some points on the board!

Dawg, it is early don't burn yourself out before the action really gets going...
 
Well hopefully I shot the first 5 points this evening with a white doe. I’m real nervous about the shot though. Rushed the shot and hit back. I backed out of course and I’m hoping she’ll be dead in her first bed but I’m also worried about coyotes getting on her. She’s not fully white more like ghost white. Also worried about shooting some spirit deer and now being cursed for the rest of the season :grimacing:

Yeah you are probably right! I tend to do that but I can’t help it I get all antsy in my pantsy. NY tags are different than what I’m used to in NC. If you don’t fill the two Bow/Muzz tags before gun season you can’t use em again until the late archery season (1 week in December) even if you hunt with a bow. Always feels like I’m racing against the clock.

Congrats boys!!! Hoping to contribute tomorrow morning as it’s gonna be 35 degrees!!!!! Activity in my only Sunday spot has been slow but hopefully the cold snap gets them up!
 
Well guys cameras have been going crazy all morning but unfortunately I woke up feeling like crap and ended up falling asleep on the couch trying to push myself out the door
