I blew it on a couple of does last night. They came in right behind me. I almost got turned around enough to shoot, but they picked me.

I'll be back out tonight...

At this point I am willing to hold out for a good buck just to jump us! I wish we could get more that one doe scored cause I’d have been in the money today.

I have an archery doe tag I can fill before rifle opens on the 22nd. Hoping I can get on one probably gonna hunt tomorrow afternoon.

Here is my 2022 Hunt Plan.

Sept 24-Oct 1
Fly-in moose hunt north of Nakina Ont. (Unsuccessful) Unfortunately the day after we arrived, my buddy came down with some serious abdominal pain. We had to get him flown out and to hospital. Thankfully he is OK with some torn muscles, but not anything serious. Trouble was, he had our Bull tag and didn't come back out...

Oct 1-21
I will bow hunt in southern Ont around my house. I will be run and gunning some new territory and sitting on a couple of decent early season spots.

Oct 21-Nov 5
I have a few days off in this period to put some real time in. Won't go to my best spots until Halloween. This is when I will pull out my canoe and push way into the flooded timber. More on this later (I got a primary scrape that lights up every year that Eberhart would drive from Michigan to hunt on if I shared the map...).

Nov 6-9
I go up north to rifle hunt near Algonquin park at my rifle camp. Best dudes going. Best cook this side of Winnipeg. 1000 acres of private property... Can't wait.

Nov 10-12
I drive over to Bancroft Ont to hunt with my buddies at "Camp Beer Can". This is a social outing, with live ammo. I haven't discharged a round there since 2015!

Nov 13-Dec 4
More bow hunting around my house.

Dec 5-11 Shotgun season
Hopefully I am taged out by then, but I have this last gun season as insurance.

Dec 12
Sleep...
 
After life and then Covid I’ve had a 2 and a half week hiatus in wich I’ve done nothing but watch cameras and dream of deer hunting. Proudly getting back to it tomorrow morning and hoping to bring at least 5 points to the board!!!!

We found him this morning. About 100 yards from where I shot. We waited until morning because I thought it was a liver shot. Turns out I put it through both shoulders. The hide stopped the exit. The Hickory Creek did its job. Sorry no saddle pic, I left it home for the track.

The pic with the saddle doesn't need to be right then and there. Take one at your place.
