Tethrd One Stick Gen 3's - Season review so far

I love the weight savings, but they don’t bite the tree like beast sticks or eastern woods. Maybe I’m doing something wrong. No kickouts so far, so I’m gonna run them, but I’m still a little uneasy.
No stick bites like a beast does, but I have had no issues thus far.

So been looking at these sticks again. Weight savings for one. Also looks like they would clean up my sticks. Gets rid of cable aiders and the rope containment thing looks sweet. Fighting the temptation.

Tethrd gonna run a sale anytime soon? Anyone have any heads up of previous sales before season?

I just got a notice that they were back in stock. After a period of out of stock, I wouldn't expect a sale soon (because demand built up during them being out of stock, I'd guess).

The site kept crashing after they announced they were back in stock. May want to make sure you don’t miss out.

I started using them middle to late last season, I really like them. So far so good. I have four and two different aiders for them. Can get pretty high if necessary. Typically I one stick but going to use these this year as they are just so light!! I’ve been very critical of Tethrd in the past too.

I’ve used mine on several practice climbs including some gnarly trees and I have to say I’m impressed. The only complaint I have is that they seem louder than other sticks. I’m still waiting for someone to figure out how to get spray foam in the gen 3 tubes…

I’m afraid to try it. I’m waiting for one of the gear junkies on here to do it so I can see what happens to them first. I recall someone was talking about putting a cam cleat on a tethrd one which required drilling into it. But I’m not sure what the outcome was or if he was ever heard from again…

Well… I don’t think the juice is worth the squeeze from the experience of spray foaming other products. So you won’t see me doing it to mine. Just thinking of the mess makes me ill

WhT two aiders do u use?

Someone mentioned to me the DynaLoc tab is secured to the stick by a rivet? Can someone who owns them confirm this? And maybe a size estimation of the rivet? Everytime I get ready to pull the trigger I get held up by something. Not hating just I don’t know anything about rivets and there’s strengths/weaknesses. Thanks.

Nothing wrong with the rivet on the gen3 one sticks. Arsenal uses the same rivet system. I beat the hell out of the ones all season last year with no issue. The rivet is bigger on the gen3 than the gen1 sticks

I agree, the Gen 3 do not bite the tree like a Beast Stick. But, after a dozen usages last season I moved to exclusively using the Gen 3. The weight savings and tight, quiet stacking makes them the better option for me.

Well after about a month or so of fighting it. Punched the place order button on a 3 pack this morning.
