My point is user error can cause a platform to make a little noise if not secured properly. Getting it right in the dark on a chilly morning is a little more difficult. Or I'm just sub par saddle hunter. Which is very possible. Seems if everything is right with the CFX. There should not be any noise. But maybe the chance of it happening is higher? Less room for error..

I'd try amsteel and cam it down hard....the webbing, no matter how hard you pull on it, almost always microstretches and this causes squeaks

Did you watch the video and see all the rocking movement at the post??? Attachment method ain’t gonna fix that.

i thought he was talking in general for all platforms....and i was responding what i think is a big culprit for many

if the nylon webbing is stretching as you shift weight, then it allows the platform to microshift on the tree

a lot of that is webbing stretch

if you use amsteel and toe hook....then it doesn't stretch and is way quieter

i can say since i went to amsteel (and usually a trucker's hitch because i'm using a daisy chain) that my platform is pretty much totally silent
my thought too. I never got good at the daisy chains but a USA pro can get darn tight and zero stretch.

Perhaps.
Perhaps, also, it’s probably the first time Tethrd has released a major product with a ton of hype and still has said product in stock, for a sizeable “Black Friday” discount, with no backorder in sight.
That’s curious to me, if nothing else.

No one has enough experience yet to review/praise/or bash it because they are still walking around on it and getting it dirty enough to quiet it down. They'll be properly seasoned by next season.

Lol that’s a pretty good one!

Honestly it’s just kind of a no win to post a video or review in my opinion. People will buy it if they want to try it, mock it if they don’t want to.

If I post a video a bunch of my experience the site says “he doesn’t know anything, doesn’t have enough posts.” A bigger name posts a review of the platform and the site says “well they’re probably sponsored so you can’t believe it.”

The only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about.

Has anyone ever considered where the saddle industry would be without Tethrd? I'll go out on a limb and say they have greater sales than any other company in the industry, which means they've put more hunters in the tree than any another factor, now you guys that have clogged this thread, and others, up with underhanded comments and retreaded jokes tell me that without Tethrd doing more to increase the customer base where would all the start up companies that manufacture cookie cutter platforms, sticks, and saddles be? Non existent that's where. When I started down the saddle hunting path I joined this forum to educate myself and to be honest I was overwhelmed by the terms, the techniques, and the choices, Tethr was the only company that manufactured and sold it all, while doing their best to educate the newbie like me. Am I a fanboy, No, as my Tethrd gear wears out or needs replaced I'll look at all the options available, and when I drop $400 on a custom made saddle from a smaller company run out of someones garage or when I replace my platform with one from a company that manufacturers a fraction of what Tethrd produces those companies will owe those sales to Tethrd. Leave a positive mark and you all have a happy and safe holiday season.

I can't lie.. I caved. Work opened the flood gates with OT, so I worked a bunch of extra shifts. Worst case it blows and squeaks and I sell it for close if not more than what I paid when they run out of stock before the season.

I trust most of the reviews here. Have at it.

Is it a positive or a negative that tethrd tries to get the little guys to shut down production with threats of law suits?

I don’t know anything about the “lawsuits”, as I don’t keep an eye on everything on here, but there is always two sides to the story and some people just hate just because of jealousy.

Replace "Hawk" with "Tethrd" in your statement and it's still true..

Tethrd is Hawk with better PR
I wouldn't be thanking Hawk for much.
I'd be thanking Tethrd for even less...
But I never bought into their knee pads anyways...
