I have built/converted myself a CNC milling machine and am going to make myself a one stick platform. I have it all designed and modeled up. I machined some aluminum steps for a ROS.The prices of saddle hunting gear has gone out the roof. A one stick set-up from two vendors I looked at started at 350-425.00. These saddle Hunter platforms are $350 and up. I know CNC milling equipment is very expensive, however, the cost for some is prohibitive. I like the simpler approach with WEI steps, knaider/swaider and a ring of steps. I’m considering a WEI Perch.

Bibs are an absolute pain at height , but what’s the struggle with a jacket other than tucking it in? I mainly climb bolts /sticks. When 25/40deg I’m bibs & jacket & iwom below that. Bibs on at base of the tree vents unzipped everywhere & jacket strapped to my pack. I usually don’t put the jacket on for at least an hour if not more…..I have not tried that the sticks are ok just not my favorite I get sweaty climbing up cause I have to have my bibs and jacket on before the climb it’s a pita to put a jacket on in the saddle.

They took everything I didn’t like about the hand climber and found a way to modify it into a two tether climbing system. I like the idea and wonder how it would be if you added something stiff inside the amsteel.
I ended up with the newer Barren Ridge climber but the climbing with just the edp does not look too difficult.Another take on this climbing method.
