The work tethers in the video are referred to as the (foot/lower)one is the "work" tether becase at height you split the loops and stand on both feet.
In our case set a stand or platform..
The thigh band(upper) is referred to as the safety tether because it has a built in loop for the safety line to clip in preventing a fall.
When bypassing an obstruction they use a seperate choker and clip into it to advance the safety tether.
Always maintaining a safety connection.

In the CFE video he stood on the foot tether, added a lineman’s belt and removed his top tether that he was tied in to which means he wasn’t actually connected to the pole while moving his top tether from what I could tell. Relatively sketchy.

I was recently in Spain and all of their power line poles were concrete so I was wondering how they got up there. Simple and effective.

It looked to me like he clipped into a bracket on the pole before he went to remove the top tether.

I am going to revisit 2TC.
I made those and they work but gave up on them because many wisconsin trees tend to run bigger and I didn't take adjustability into cosideration so They been sitting in my tree cutting trunk for several years.
@Redbeard shared the video link with me so I could see how people are doing it.
Thats when I realized how good it really was and what I was missing in the system by not incorporating pursiks.
One of these days I'll climb another tree with a modified set.

I made one very similar to test out. I will 2nd (or 3rd) that they do make an awesome platform for short sits and in areas where you won't be doing alot of moving. Personally, it doesn't feel as stable as 1-legging it but using both legs makes the climb easier.
Thanks. If it makes the climb easier, I can always use a linesman for stability. I may give this another try.

I'm still loving 2tc. I made a good climb yesterday evening on a very hard smooth barked tree with no problems. I set up over a couple of scrapes in a fairly remote spot. I'm pretty sure I have been the only person back there since the bucks dropped their racks earlier this year. This shed was in the wide open and anyone walking through would have seen it. No deer were seen.

What’s your setup here? Looks like the bottom tether is looped back up into a Blakes for the foot loop, right? What’s the other hitch and wire gate carabiner for?

Yes, the bottom tether (foot) is 14 or 15 feet of Samson Predator tied in a Blake's hitch for adjustability. The hitch above that is a Distel with a wire gate carabiner. This hitch and carabiner mainly serve as the connection point for my backpack. When I get up to the spot where I want my ring of steps, I slide the Distel up the rope and take the backpack off and hang it from this carabiner. I then attach the ring of steps and put the backpack back on my back and climb past the ring of steps. Once at hunting height on my ring of steps I put the foot tether up about 6 inches under the main tether and slide the Distel up all the way as a stopper knot and hang my backpack at about 120 degrees to my right, out of the way. I then install an HME gear strap between the two tethers and this holds my bow on the left and my quiver on the right.
The Distel serves a secondary purpose also. It is my connection point should i need to go around a limb. I would hook up my bridge to this and weight it, then unweight and detach my top tether and move it around a limb. I am blessed with a plethora of straight limbless trees, so this has not been necessary. Some will poo poo the use of a wire gate carabiner, but they are used by mountain climbers so, for this application, it suits my needs.
