I have and shoot a '64 Bear Kmag, but this hunting season was all my Black Hunter longbow. In the process of finishing my hickory selfbow.
Smart man.I won't list them for fear the wife will take notice.
Had a friend that shot a #70 longbow and that thing was a load. Pretty sure I want no part of #83. May have partially torn a rotator cuff thinking about it.1. Northern Mist Classic 68" 56#@28"
2. Howard Hill Tembo 68" 63#@28"
3. Bobby Lofton 68" 67#@28"
4. Robertson Stykbow 70" 83#@28 (presently working up slowly to this one, lol)
I’m curious what traditional bows you guys are shooting! They have a ton of makers and I’m curious who you like or would recommend. I plan on going to the show in Kalamazoo Michigan this year and would like to try to find a new bow. I’ve shot a bunch of them just always like finding other options. Thanks!
The 83# belonged to a good friend who passed away and his daughter gave it to me. It has a lot of sentimental value because of that, and I would love to work up to it someday, but it would be a real stretch. I can shoot the 67# pretty well and I would think I could get to 70# pretty fast if I was seriously practicing.Had a friend that shot a #70 longbow and that thing was a load. Currently own:
Warf bow from a PSE Silhouette riser and Samick Sage limbs at #30.
Bear Bearcat at #40 (its a nice recurve/long hybrid bow) feel most forgiving to me.
A really old generic Ben Pearson no label bow from a yard sale that is #20.
