1st time climb (this tree), show me a better way

this tree is 5'3" at waist height. 30' tether height, around limbs, walking up to tree unpacking, climbing, coming down, packing up and walking off under 9 min. I'm not sure you can do it with gaffs this quick with setting a platform and putting gaffs on/off, on ground and at platform, being...

What do you enjoy doing now that the season is ending?

A buddy and I are going hunting Monday, haven't seen him in years, although we talk frequently. It'll probably be one of the last for me this season, and I'm ok with that. I'm glad it's over, it takes a couple weeks to wind down, seeing the taxidermist helps a little. Then I start remembering...

quartering away shot from ground, what are my chances this is fatal?

68lb bow 35 yds quartering away, fixed blade. penetration not good. maybe 8in and 1 lung. hit maybe 2nd from last rib at 45degree angle. he didn't run far and I backed out. probably not gonna be bleeding. anybody made shots like this?

this being a successful hunt is certainly debatable

Well I did the deed and tried to make the best decisions I could afterwards, unfortunately it didn't work out that well. He was recovered 50hrs after the shot. I guess this is a better outcome than what I thought happened, which was wounding him. I got another post up that kind of runs through...

I should of let him win and shoot the dirt

25ft up and monster at under 10 ft. been holding full draw and was at my limit. now I got a beautiful animal running around with his guts hanging out that might be dead tomorrow with about a 25% chance of being found. guys don't hunt with a butthole, especially when you're by yourself.

    virtual kills on big bucks.

this dude has a doe locked down and been in the same spot 2 days in a row eating acorns. could of shot him today but absolutely had to leave for work. 30ft away and he didn't even know I was there, that's how focused he was on her.

    better than an ebike?

so I got 2 ebikes, 1 for hunting (urban mostly) and 1 for fun/ walking the dog. LOVE them. problem is with a backpack/bow/saddle gear/quartered deer/ it raises your center of gravity and you are a little wobbly loaded up. plus loading/storing bikes/ and certain situations using them are issues...

    good doggie

had to shoot this guy barely quartering straight at me -20yds, 30ft high in tree. pulled bow back thinking he was gonna get broadside but he stopped, minute into it I'm fixing to get shaky. Knew I couldn't hold it forever so hit him right behind the shoulder blade at the start of the loin...

I got a xbow for you, I have it set up with a vortex red dot and a HHE range slide. you can hold it 1 hand, cock it with hands (150lb), and if i'm not mistaken, it is the lightest 1 u can buy. It works PERFECT out a saddle. its actually pretty bad azz, I just always pick up my bow instead of the...
