Yup. Me and Rick drew it out on the floor of his shop with soap stone. Lol
At the time he had 2 models. A crawfish skiff and a bateau. I wanted a bateau that went more to a point like a skiff for going in the trees but have a flat rake all the way up to the point like a bateau. He didn’t think it would look good what I had in mind and it probably didn’t so we settled on his bateau design. Then he called me a couple weeks later saying he had 2 sides left from another boat project left over if I wanted to take a chance and let him build something like I wanted. He had some ideas to make it work and look good. And that design was born. Lol. We called it the SS edition for swampsnyper. Lol. Built it for my Gatortail. 3/16in bottom and 1/8in sides. Got tubing slots welded around the deck for my bowfishing light rack. Those days are over now. That dude just isn’t a welder but an artist. We use to hang out a lot at one time.

There’s no need for him to stencil his name on the side of a boat for recognition, that bow says it all.

I had to get on MMT last night, first time in forever. I miss the early days of that forum.

I’m sure Dean Guidry would be envious your wooden pirogue... lol

Didn’t know mmt was still alive. I don’t remember you there. You had the same name? Man we had some good times on those group rides.

Only one I have left 1999 ranger R91 with 200hp mercury on the back
I FB_IMG_1495540680638.jpgHave had 2 12 foot John boats and a 18 foot bass tracker
Had to make sacrifices to get this boat by selling the other but trust me I have no problem throwing a gutted deer right up on the carpet. I bought it to use it not to look pretty!

So after reading through this post, I realized how much I missed my little 12 ft fishing boat which I sold 6 years ago. Today, I upgraded to a 16' boat. I can't wait to go after some walleye. Just need the season to open!

Yeah I'm getting pumped to hit the water (and to look into some small boat options too). Nice clean nymph. Kinda Makes me wanna rescue my old cadillac that's been sitting at my parents' for a decade in a semi-surplus situation.

I took my old Lund out for the walleye run last Saturday. The 2009 Evenrude kept entering safe mode and shutting down. I have no idea what is wrong with it. Pisses me off. The $100 minnkota bow mount I purchased the day before ran flawlessly and helped us land 30 walleye. The biggest was 27”. A bad day of boating but a good day fishing.

When was the last time you did the impeller? Sounds like it's starting to go...

You have a shOP manual? Should give you ossible reasons... 2 stroke or 4? If 2 stroke oil injected or premix? Pumpingn water good even at speed? Sometimes they can still pump, but not as much as they need past idle, the rubber actually gets stiffer actually from sitting than from use. If oil injected, id run through that system, then I'd check plugs for fouling and gap. Then I'd do the impeller... It's a 40 Min job max, and about a $50 part I'm guessing(mine are 45 for my '83 80hp merc) it's where I'd start...it's probably where the mechanic would too. Assuming it ran fine last year?
