What did you do today that’s related to saddle hunting?

I took a stroll through the woods. I found some milkweed plants producing pods, tested out my pack loadout, hung a trail cam, and did a practice climb.

taking my time, it was a five min setup at the bottom of three, 5:06 from the bottom of the tree to the top of my fourth stick, and 6:11 to get all my gear situated up at height.

Got my bow hanger in from Genesis. This one clips on. Very good hanger.

I missed out on not one but two fridges last year from the 60's. They are supposed to be great for meat aging because they don't have the air drying feature that the newer ones have. I was too slow, not gonna pass up a third one if it comes up...

I guess buying some hiking boots counts. I can't walk to my saddle tree barefoot, now, can I?

Stick mod to get rid of those ridiculous J hooks that come on some of them. These sticks were basically freebies, and I won't be using them for mobile hunting. Seasonal installs on private. Wanted to just be able to run a standard cam buckle strap through them. Just a couple drilled holes and some hardware. Did four of them. Turned out pretty good. Tested satisfactory on a tree this evening.

Well I put my roll pouch on. Tied the stopper not on. Tied a scaffold knot and beaner in. Put my madrock on my rope. New sys hauler. Put an aider on my stick and an adjustable bridge on my saddle. I think that is it maybe. 149D2752-88CF-4799-BEC2-B8D7BCC69279.jpeg

Is your plan to carry your platform in your pack or what’s your plan with that pack?

Stayed up till 1 last night working on some new arrows, and working on my 5 go’s first set of “custom” arrows. Added some pouches to my saddle today and realized I might not love pouches. Did some road scouting with the kids on my local WMA, and ordered a few Magnus replacement blades.
Pretty good day!
