5.5lb climbing, platforming, & descending package - Solo Scout

He sure does!

@Red Beard looked so good in the previews you made me order a solo scout!

Red Beard and I are working on a material list so I can get a DIY kit made up and a price for it. The kit will include:
  • 12' Daisy Chain (8" Daisy Chains and 4' for a "leash"
  • 2 1/4" or 3/16" hanks for splicing into the daisy chain to make your steps
  • 1 1/4" hank for making the soft shackle / I might even premake the soft shackle (undecided yet)

So the only thing outside of the kit you will need would be the camjam and protective sheath that surrounds the daisy chain

A plus about the work horse is that it could be used on other sticks and climbing methods as well.
I will be posting a video on youtube on assembling the kit along with prices.

Thank you,

Sam Switalski

Love the collaboration between folks. Nice work!

@Red Beard is the mad scientist I'm just the guy making his vision a reality! And, I think he had a genius idea with this. So many options and with his videos its made me wonder if I should offer a aider without rubber hose on the steps and call it the air aider.

Can someone post a link to this? I'm searching but can't find any threads.

Well,i tried this method the 2nd time today with ziptie grips and a carabiner at the end of tether plus the fancy stopper knot..The whole affair went much smoother than on my first try. I got much better at handling the linemens belt and the tether, and the platform move as well. This is definitely working for me and will be a viable alternative to DRT for me. Thanks again for the video @Redbeard.

So glad to hear it buddy! Like everything, it took me a bit of practice but now I think it's the bees knees.

What is the "carabiner at the end of tether" you speak of sir? You're not using that in place of a delta link are you? If so, may I recommend you go with a delta link instead since they handle cross-loading differently.
