Cam the step over, then the board slides in about a 45 degree angle. When it dropped level the corners of the board cannot slide out past to angled metal of the step. You could try to yank it out and it probably would come by force, but not unintentionally. When your weight is anywhere on it it becomes even more solidly locked in. Hope this helps
Pretty impressive. Does it give you 360° shoot ability

How does it pack?

It packs great, shockingly small and light. Because it is so small and light it is a breeze to hang. I did a review on it today. It is not perfect, but it is a stable platform that works on a huge range of trees.

Did you post the review on you tube?

Spent 12 solid hours yesterday making stands for presets. They ain't pretty and they ain't light. But they are rock solid and won't degrade when left in a tree for a year.
We made 14 for less than the cost of 1 Predator.
Also painted 200 bolts.
These stands are 95% finished.

I really love my Lone Wolf hand climber. It’s a climbing system as well as a platform under 5 pounds!

And you can go as high as you want!

My problem with using my hand climber as a platform is that it needs downward pressure to remain secured to the tree. I would think that moving from side to side could easily unseat the platform. I also think that standing/leaning on the sides would easily dislodge the platform as it is not designed for this type of pressure. Do you use some way to secure the unit to the tree once at full height?

I just got my LW hand climber last week and have climbed with it twice. I love the ease in climbing and the weight. I tried leaning but I'm not sure of side pressure. The next time I go out with it I will check it out. I will also bring a strap to attach to the platform and around the tree. I will be checking this out within the next week and will let you know.

So I had a couple minutes before I have to go to work so I went outback to check it out. I’m only about 6’ up but you’ll get the idea. In order to hang off the side I had to stabilize myself with one knee otherwise I would fall off the platform strapped or unstrapped. No doubt the platform is more stable with the strap but it wasn’t that bad without it either.
