Stick kick out when using aiders

Dave T incident got me thinking. Maybe an idea is to use a second strap to put on the bottom of stick. After seating stick with top rope/strap take a cinch strap and wrap around bottom and tighten real good. Might not need for bottom stick since your not real high

    New XOP Seat Platform?

Just seen this on their website https://xopoutdoors.com/products/new-hang-on-seat-casting Only $29 and 2.25 lbs. I think I paid $49. I like the last line in description " this is to be used only as a seat casting only. Not responsible if this is used in any other manner lol

    Carry sticks with Guido

I discovered an easy way to carry sticks with the web. I use three muddy pro sticks and place them high on the back and use the shoulder straps to lock them in. Place them over the whale tail. The sticks ride on the cushion of the seat. Very easy, quiet, and seem to carry better. I also use a...

    Hunting Height

When people talk about how high up they are I assume everyone is measuring from the bottom of their foot down. This is the standard measure correct? I think some people based on what they are using might be measuring differently.

    Very rough set up

well I just might've set the record for the longest time setting up three sticks with aiders hang a Tree stand. I am using some new CMI three-step Ater's and the first tree I attempted I found out that unless the tree is pretty straight those Ater's don't work very well. Not to mention my...

    Aider concealment?

I just picked up a couple CMI 3 step aiders in order to get higher than the single steps I made. One is purple and 1 is orange. I am thinking of painting paint them or even try camo form tape to conceal them better. My concern is that an approaching deer will see something new and put them on...

    padding for sit drag

What size and type do you use and does it add much in comfort? I was thinking 1 inch memory foam cut same width of seat and all the way to the loops might work.

    Mellenium M7 Treestand

Now I did it. Just when I dove headfirst into saddle hunting I go out and buy a new hang on. I think I am losing my mind. For as much as I am able to hunt I am spending a shipload of money of new stuff. I know this is a saddle forum but for those that want another option hopefully this...

Climbing with aiders and climbing belt

Ok I am somewhat inexperienced in this area. I am using muddy 20 inch sticks with a single homemade aider. The issue is it seems very awkward/challenging climbing using a belt as it restricts your mobility unless it is so loose that it is really ineffective. Once I climb a step I am constantly...

    water knot for webbing

So after reading up a little on water knots for webbing the one thing I see is that over time the tail ends can slip. Would stitching the tag ends prevent this? I don't have any experience with water knots. It does look easy to tie.

    My new platform

Ok don't get too excited. I just stole everybody's ideas. I did want to say that at least the initial brief test did pass. For now I am using a HSS lineman's strap to cam lock it. One nice is thing is it serves to lock it tight for transporting. I was able to lodge one of my old hockey...

    Muddy Tree Brackets

I was taking apart my tree bracket to do my platform mod last night. Is there a trick to getting the bolt out or do you just go buy a new bolt?

    Platform question

For you experts out there where is the best location for your platform compared to your tree brackets. Also for the ones just using a Whoopie sling is that enough support now that you've had some field time with it or would you recommend A versa button and strap also. I have all my parts in...

    shooting from Sit/Drag

Been practicing from ground level and I noticed I shoot better with SD a little higher up than I usually position it when resting. I thinks it gives me a little more stability in my torso. People look at me funny when I say I keep my treestand in my bow case :)

    Guidos Web buckles

the shoulder strap buckles on my GW drive me crazy because they are metal and rattle and make noise. Anybody have any success in either quieting them down or replacing with maybe plastic that are quieter. Kind of a dumb design

    Tree stand platform as platform

What if you used a platform from Lonewolf or similar stand and cut it down to smaller size. Then you can take advantage of the platform itself digging into tree when cammed over. Use amsteel to hold it up. I keep seeing these platform ideas with seats. Have one strap with versa button and...

    My sit and drag idea

I really like the idea of G2's Sd with the fixed spliced amsteel blue. However I just am a little nervous about either the splice coming undone or the SD failing. I will be 50 in a few months and 235lbs so at my age and weight I am a little paranoid. What I think I will do is to order another...

    fixed bridge for sit drag

So I have a sit drag and have been looking through the all the info but sorry if I missed this. I want to put a fixed bridge probably in the 24-28in range. What do you think is the best material and way to fasten to the SD? I Probably would tie a knot since I have no sewing skills or...

    Another saddle idea

Ive been reading the Sit N Drag post and sounds very interesting as I like everybody else is looking for that lightweight saddle that doesn't kill your legs/hips while hunting. I was looking at this replacement seat from Summit http://www.summitstands.com/summit-foam ... ement-seat. A little...

    saddle idea

What if you had a design like this seat on the Old man hang on http://www.cabelas.com/product/hunting/ ... type%3DGNU and ran some webbing from each side of the bars. Seems like it would be lightweight and you wouldn't have the hip squeeze. Also the net seating looks like it might be comfy.
