Pacseat mods: Putting the 'pack' in Pacseat, & other things

Well, I couldn’t take it anymore. I have to get to the woods and shoot a doe from the ground! The noise coming from the seat made it completely unhuntable. Time to get cutting on this brand new $300 chair!

After giving it a good look over I decided to not go with the manufactures suggestion to spray furniture wax on the mesh. I cut out the paracord and zip ties supporting everything. Then found that the mesh was cutting into the paint! Just like I had presumed, the finish was the culprit.

My solution was to vet tape EVERYTHING then reinstall new paracord. I replaced the zip ties with paracord and restrung the back support in a bootlace pattern just like the seat. We will see how that works out over time but I am finally happy with this seat. It’s now DEAD silent!

So I got to mucking about with my old and new seat.

The old one has a different fabric that doesn't squeak when you squirm in the chair. The new seat has a more see-through, looser woven fabric that squeakes when i move. I hadn't noticed it until folks brought it up. My thoughts were the lighter fabric would be cooler on hot swampy days. Not sure if the noise would bother me on a hunt since i have to make pretty dramatic moves to make it squeak.

But now I hear it. :/

I'll call Tim over at Waldrop and pick his brain a little on why they changed the fabric.

Thanks Butternuster. I was going to send an email just so they are aware but I’ll let you do it lol. The seat is really really cool. The noise wasn’t a dealbreaker for me as I love to mess with my gear but I could totally see someone returning there’s if it popped like mine did.

Got an Icebreaker or some other muff? Put that joker to work! A simple shock cord loop gathering either end will have it pulling quadruple duty as a hand warmer, a stash for your extra flashlight, your game bags, and a bottle of Pelligrino.

So how many rolls of vet tape did you use? I'm probably going to order one this week.

Came in the mail today and so far i love it. It came with tennis balls and also already waxed down. I shot my bow out of it and everything feels great but when I went to attach my small pack to it one of the rivets came out of the back strap wanted to see if anyone else has had this issue? I still plan on hunting with it this weekend and already sent them an email.

If you have a rivet gun you can run a new one into it.

Well the customer service has been great, I emailed them late last night and got a response back today and talked to Tim. He offered to send me a new one or mail the one i have back. I'm gonna hunt out of it this weekend and mail it back to him Monday.

Man, i don't want to be that guy, but, it's just a rivet.. it'll cost the owner close to $50 to ship yours back and ship you a new one when a $0.20 rivet will fix it. Don't have access to a rivet gun?
