    Don’t pay 150 for a madrock…you don’t need it.

    Madrocks are just OK. Don’t obsess. Their big claim to fame is they advance on the rope and hold without falling back down. Guess what? They do slip down the rope, just slower. You can go up and down with any number of alternatives.

    Choosing the right SRT branch/crotch

    Is it ok to throw over a branch we know is too small to climb and then girth hitch the tree at that point? Or is it asking for trouble to use anything but a crotch that would be acceptable for DRT?

    Best way to back up madrock/grigri with prusik?

    Curious how others are backing up their belay device? I’ve been using an eye to eye tied in a VT above the device...I’ve experimented with attaching it to the same biner and giving it its own. Anybody have this worked out?
